How Can severe Numbness All Over The Body Be Treated?

I have had a number of tests but nothing conclusive. I have been experiencing numbness spreading throughout my body. And tingling. I can feel hot and cold but my skin feels numb at the same time. I m fully aware of everything. No speech impediment etc. I ve had a spinal tap and am waiting another MRI scan. Any idea what it could possibly be?
